Short listed EXCO has to plan for AGE Annual Camp 2007 for the JC1 members during the June holiday. Short listed EXCO has to sign up for the various committees:

IC/AIC (2): Basically you will be in charge of the planning committee
Games (5): Come up with games and activities played during the camp
F&B (3): In charge of food for the camp
Logistics (3): In charge of the logistics used during the camp
Coordinator (2): Time table as well as making sure the camp run smoothly

Please sms me your name and your preferred choices by this Friday. An important meeting will be held on next Wednesday, 2nd May 2007, 4.30pm after practice so try to be available. Thank you.

yep! syf is finally over. for those who arent informed yet.

AGE GOT SILVER!

Congrats everyone! i know we did not get what we want, but at least, the efforts we put in during the past 4 months are really something to treasure. getting a silver or gold is just a title given to us. it is the process everyone has gone through to achieve it that matters. because of syf, everyone has come from all walks of life to work together as a team.. because of syf, new friendships have been formed.. because of syf, everyone had grown so much. no matter what we got, everyone has achieved a gold with honours in my heart..

during the past 4 months, we have put in so much effort and manage to master our syf pieces. compared that to some other jcs which had started since last yr, everyone is really remarkable, given the fact that some of us dont even have any guitar or music background at all. everyone is really remarkable..

that's why i am very confident to say this: GOOD JOB GUYS! We have made it! although we did not get what we want, im very proud of everyone! thank you all so much for the efforts put in. you guys are the best!:D the memories we had shared, i will keep it in my heart forever..

thank you mdm khoo and miss chin for putting in your best and not giving up on us even though we started late. thank you mr toh for all your efforts to groom everyone to where we are today. thank you mr moh, for spending your precious time practising with us even though you are working. thank you grace for conducting us. thank you everyone in syf, for teaching me so many things. thank you everyone else for supporting us one way or another. thank you all so much!

we can only place our hope in the hands of our juniors now. two years later, AGE is going to get GOLD! hasta la vista, we'll be back!=)

It is natural to feel sad considering the time and effort put in rehearsing the 2 syf pieces during the past few months. But silver is also recognition of the hard work put in.

Sometimes it is not the end result that matters most. The journey that you all have taken together in the preparation would become part of a beautiful memory. Memories which are uniquely yours and which no silver or gold can replace.

As I sat there in the audience just below the adjudicators watching the lot of you performed, it warmed my heart to see the joy of playing the guitar shown on your faces and body movement. I am sure the judges would have sense the serenity and grandness of Eine Kleine. The joyfulness of So Nice would have rub off them too.

Quoting Mr Toh's words on the return journey, you all are like diamond, given more time and polishing, the brilliance will daze. Grace has also grown from a little pupa to a beautiful butterfly.

Well done one and all. It has been a wonderful experience working with this batch of enthusiastic guitarists. May the sound of the guitar shine ever as bright. Resonating your heart throughout the night.

Tuesday ( 16/5) 4-8pm

1.All guitarists report to auditorium for concert run through. Bring along your costumes and shoe wear. Black files should be all properly filed and checked too.

2. Please give the tickets $$ to sarah and pass back the remaining tickets if you wish to.

First half of the day we'll update everyone of the movement plan again. More updates! Backstage crew need to be there as well. Will try out the flow of movement for the whole concert w/o playing.

Second half will be doing all the pieces on stage. This is to train looking at the conductor =)

Junior Ensemble will have to stay till all of you guitarists are present. There will be a short but impt meeting to confirm all your sitting arrangements due to other changes and other stuff.

Wednesday (17/5)

Love Story dynamics with Mr Adrian 2.30pm 413

JC2s:

First half Meliando Cafe (412) and Haru Ga Kita (411 with Mr Alex) practices. All starts at 2.30pm. Will end around 7pm.

Second half combined for all pieces dynamics with Mr Alex. Percussions for needed pieces will be confirmed too.

Friday (19/5) 4pm-6.30pm

All pieces run through at new container block. Niibori guitars will be needed.

Saturday (20/5) 8.30am

Final Practice and briefing for all pieces before full dress rehearsal on coming tuesday.

Term 2 Week 8 Activities!!

9th May, Tuesday - Technical Dry Run

All Guitarists:

Report at 4pm at school auditorium. Bring your belongings, guitar and scores all to the auditorium. More instructions will be given there =). Dry Run will end at 8pm. JC1s may be released earlier when tasks are completed.

Bring $10 for the strings if you ordered (very good quality at 17% off! U.P $12 =P). Those who ordered tuners please bring $40 first cause can't confirm pricing yet and when will be delievered.

Prepare your black file with scores properly filed (those needed only and in order of your pieces)

Drama Team, Backstage Screw (Logistics Team), Emcees will need to report at allocated timing by respective exco members in charge.

JC1s:

-Get into your sections in groups and tune your guitar, do finger exercise scaling etc when reached. Previous group SLs please be in charge.

- We will confirm your seating arrangement tt day and take note yourself. Be sure to keep a look out for those who are not there. Movement in and out of the stage must be confirmed.

- after that will be allowed to practice love story. The piece need to be memorised asap.

- Remember to pay $ for strings and tuners, collect them before going.

- Some will be asked to take up roles as percussionists for JC2 pieces

JC2s:

- All pieces will be run through. Individuals are to take note sitting arrangements for different pieces. Note the scores whom u are sharing with and make sure if you want notes on them, do coordinate with your partner.

- Note your pieces by highlighting your appendix. Will help to keep track of correct sequence of your appearance on stage.

- We will try out all the pieces with percussion (e.g el vito, facurra, maliendo cafe, yakaa etc). Prepare to take on roles of percussionists too =)

- Mr Alex wants to work out those niibori players playing Haru Ga Kita. Those few tt i have talk to please take note and remind me to give out the scores.

Backstage Crew - Contact your Logistics IC if unsure of time to report. your role is crucial for the technical dry run to flow well =). Please take note of the logistics arrangement for different intervals of pieces too.

10th May, Wednesday

All Guitarists:

Practice as usual according to schedule given. Niibori players are expected to bring prime guitars as well. JC1 till 5pm, JC2 ends at 7pm

11th May, Thursday

JC2: Performance for China Visitors (Those involve are Jiang Nan and Play Swing group)
Manpower from rest of JC2 may be required. Reporting time to be confirmed =)

13th May, Saturday

Junior Ensemble: Love Story + New chords & Song etc training with mr adrian

JC2: All pieces polishing. Practice for JRL Workshop starts at 11am. Those not involved can leave. More details regarding the workshop will be released soon!

There will be a mass briefing for all guitarists during Mid April regarding the Guitar Concert.
Saturday practices officially starts in April in preparation for the concert!
Guitarists will be involved according to the timetable by the Programme Committee at a later date.
